ABOUT

Long before I picked up a hammer & saw in 2005 as a carpenter’s apprentice, the seed for building homes was planted by, of all things, watching episodes of “This Old House”. It was then that I knew that I needed to be a part of transforming and making new spaces for people who would enjoy and appreciate them. Over time, that seed received nurturing through encouragement, advice, employment, and mentorship—some of whom continue to support me to this day, for which I am deeply grateful. Over the past 20+ years, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge, from carpentry and countertop manufacturing to landscaping, project management, architectural design, even railroad signal engineering. Through it all, I have committed myself to the pursuit of excellence, as I believe excellence is more efficacious than perfection. Since no one can truly claim perfection, I seek for excellence in treating people with grace, in designing with understanding, and in partnering with craftsmen-women who share a dedication to excellence in their work. This commitment to excellence is how we achieve fine design and craftsmanship.

Philosophy

My design & build philosophy is simple; I want to partner with you to design and build a home that you are going to love and want to pass on to your next generations. It does not have to be the largest home or even the most expensive but with MKTS it will be finely designed and crafted. There is seemingly no end the online house plans sites, AI generated floor plans, and “put them up fast builders” (all of these have their place), but I want to come alongside you to build a home with you that fits your life, not the other way around. There are a couple of sayings from one of my favorite architects, “Good things take time and good things cost.” “Rome wasn’t built in a day and so goes your home.”
